Until the end of the year in Ukraine will rise in price of bread, flour and pasta – expert
The increase in the price of bread in Ukraine will be higher than inflation.
Oleksiy Doroshenko, head of the Association of Retail Chain Suppliers, told a GolosUA correspondent about this.
According to A. Doroshenko, bread in Ukraine will rise in price by the end of the year, but not too much.
“The rise in bread prices in our country is expected to be at the level of 4-5%,” the expert specified.
According to A. Doroshenko, the increase in the price of bread will be higher than inflation, but with all this, the price of bread will not go up as much as it should be expected. In principle, the world price of bread in certain periods grows by 17%, which is much higher than in Ukraine.
“We have seen that in certain periods the price of bread grew by only 1%. This is both bad and good news at the same time. Along with bread, the price in Ukraine will also increase for pasta and flour, from which, in principle, bakery products are made. Since flour of other types, for example, corn, is added to them, the price of bakery and pasta products will be tied to the cost of corn. And if the price of flour rises, then the producers of flour – both ordinary and corn flour – will be able to earn a little more on this by raising prices for it,” summed up A. Doroshenko.
